Tahen.B is a Trojan that affects Nintendo DS portable videogame consoles. It pretends to be a homebrew application for this console, but once installed, it overwrites certain areas of the firmware (software embedded in certain hardware) in the following devices: Nintendo DS and G6, XGFlash, SuperCard and GBAMP (cartridges that allow homebrew applications to be loaded in the console).
As a result, it will not be possible to start the console once switched off.
In order to run homebrew applications in this console, it is necessary to use Nintendo unofficial hardware or even to modify the firmware itself.
Tahen.B does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. Tahen.B usually reaches the computer in a file called TAIHEN.ZIP or TAIHEN.NDS.
Tahen.B is easy to recognize once it has affected the console, as it displays a slide show and the following message on screen:
DS taihen v1.0 This is a small hentai slideshow. Just sit back and relax :)
