Multidrp.AM is a Trojan that downloads and executes different malware in the affected computer: Trj/Revop.F: This Trojan gathers information on the affected computer and on the Internet connections. Then it sends this information to an specific web site. Adware/Undersearch: This adware displays a message on screen trying to trick users into visiting the link it includes. If so, the user is redirected to several web sites (for every visit to these sites, the author of Multidrp.AM gets economic benefits). Adware/Searchcentrix.
Multidrp.AM does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs the attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. The means of transmission used include, among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, e-mail messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, etc. |
