Demo-GFI.A is a Hacking Tool. Though these programs are legitimate and useful tools when they are appropriately used, a hacker could take advantage of them in order to carry out malicious actions.
Demo-GFI.A creates a text file that logs the following information:
- Network properties: domain name, computer name, user name, drives, available network printers, etc.
- Directory list of the hard drive C:.
- File list of the hard drive C:.
When Demo-GFI.A is run, it opens Notepad and displays the contents of the log file.
Demo-GFI.A is not a risk by itself, but it can be used by other malware in order to obtain information about the affected computer.
Demo-GFI.A is easy to recognize, as it opens Notepad and displays the logged file whenever it is run.
