Brief Description | |
Antimarc is a macro virus that infects Word documents and the global template (NORMAL.DOT file). In addition, Antimarc spreads via e-mail and through the chat program mIRC. In order to spread via e-mail, Antimarc sends itself out in e-mail messages created by the virus. In order to spread through an mIRC chat program, Antimarc sometimes sends itself out to the users of a certain chat channel in a file attached to an obscene message. |
Visible Symptoms | |
An indication that Antimarc has infected your computer is an e-mail message whose content is made up of letters selected at random, or, if it is received through IRC, an obscene message with an attached file called XXXPASSWORDS.DOC. |
