Killboot.A is a macro virus that infects Word files when they are closed.
This virus is considered dangerous because it drops the Trojan SETVER.EXE (detected by Panda Security as Trj/Killboot), which deletes the Master Boot Record of all the hard disks. From then on, the computer will not be able to start up.
Killboot.A drops the Trojan Trj/Killboot in the computer, which deletes the Master Boot Record from all the hard disks. If it achieves this action, the system will no longer be able to start up.
It is difficult to recognize Killboot.A before it carries out this action, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.
