Help.C is a worm that spreads by using a feature in Outlook Express that allows stationery backgrounds to be included in e-mail messages.
It is very easy to become infected by this worm, as it is automatically activated when the message is viewed through Outlook's Preview Pane, or when it is opened.
Its most destructive action consists of infecting files with the following extensions: HTM, ASP, VBS and HTT.
An indication of the presence of Help.C on the affected system is a suspicious e-mail message with background stationery.
It is difficult to notice any symptoms of infection at first sight.
