CST.Boot belongs to the Bleah family of viruses. These are characterized by being Boot and Resident viruses with no destructive effects, so that they can be classified as being inoffensive. They infect floppy disk (BOOT) and hard disk (MASTER BOOT - MBR) boot sectors.
CST.Boot doesn't have any destructive effects that can be noticed by the user. Moreover, as it uses Stealth techniques to hide its presence it is very difficult to detect, and even more so when it is installed in the memory. Although it is a boot virus it does not harm infected disks.
