Cabanas is a direct action virus that goes memory resident to infect the files that it finds in the Windows directory, the Windows system directory and the directory in which the file that carries out the infection is run.
Then, it looks for files with an EXE or SRC (screensaver) extension of a certain size and infects them.
Cabanas is the first known virus that is capable of infecting computers with the Windows 95 or Windows NT operating systems installed.
Cabanas is very difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate that it has infected a computer.
