Class.ED is a macro virus that infects Word 97 files, as well as the NORMAL.DOT global template used by this application.
In order to carry out its infection, Class.ED infects the NORMAL.DOT template. By doing this, all the documents that are used on the infected computer (all of them will use this template by default) will also become infected.
In addition, Class.ED is also a polymorphic virus, so it is more difficult to detect than other macro viruses.
Class.ED is very easy to identify, as it disables some Word options, such as the options for defining, modifying and creating macros and the Visual Basic editor.
