Eight941.D is a macro virus that reaches computers in an infected Word 97 document (a file with a DOC extension) or template, through different means of transmission.
Eight941.D activates on July 1st and November 10th. Then, the virus modifies some Word options and assigns a password to all Word documents in the affected computer. As a result, the user will only be able to open documents if they know the password.
When the user tries to open a document infected by Eight941.D, a password is requested. If the user does not know the password, they will not be able to open the document.
In any event, the password that Eight941.D assigns to documents is always the same: XYZ.
