Boot-437 is a boot virus that does not have any destructive effects, which infects the boot sector of floppy disks and hard disks.
Boot-437 can only infect the computers on which an infected floppy disk has been used, it does not use any other means.
When an infected floppy disk is used on a computer, Boot-437 goes memory resident and infects all of the floppy disks used on the infected computer from then on, provided that they are not write-protected.
Boot-437 is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate that it has infected a computer. Occasionally, the high-density floppy disks used on the infected computer may lose some of the files they contain.
Furthermore, write and read access to infected floppy disks will be slower than usual.
