Downloader.JFN is a Trojan that downloads and runs another Trojan in the affected computer.
Downloader.JFN reaches the computer in a specially crafted Excel document that exploits a vulnerability in Microsoft Excel, which allows arbitrary code to be executed with the same privileges as the logged on user.
This Excel document can reach the computer through any means of transmission, including among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, email messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, etc.
As the patch for this vulnerability is not yet available, it is recommended that you do not open any Excel document coming from untrustworthy sources.
Downloader.JFN is easy to recognize, as when the malicious Excel document is run, it seems damaged, and then, Excel is closed.
