Fathermac is not a virus, but rather a program that allows users to create viruses.
The viruses created using Fathermac are resident viruses and infect executable files with a COM extension.
Fathermac allows user to assign different characteristics to the viruses created:
- It is possible to define if the files targeted by the virus will be infected when they are run or when opened.
- The viruses generated can be encrypted.
- It can insert junk code (which makes it possible to create viruses that are difficult to detect).
