Brief Description

Jdb is not a virus; it is a hoax or an e-mail message that advises users to immediately delete the Windows file JDBGMGR.EXE, by making the user believe that it is a virus.

The message claims that the virus is spreading through the Address Book and the MSN Messenger chat.

Jdb tries to gain the user’s trust by giving data that seems to be true. Its aim is to cause alarm and get users to forward the message.

In order to avoid problems, do exactly the opposite to what the e-mail message advises you to do:

  • Do not, under any circumstances, delete the Windows file JDBGMGR.EXE (deleting this file will cause problems in the computer).
  • Do not forward the warning message, delete it immediately.

Visible Symptoms

Jdb arrives in an apparently normal e-mail message, but which can be identified by its message, which always refers to a new virus, which can be removed by deleting the Windows file JDBGMGR.EXE.
