Brief Description

PGPCoder.E is a Trojan that encrypts all the files with any extension, except for the system files or files with BAT, COM, DLL or EXE extension.

Some of the affected extensions are: BMP, DOC, HTML, JPG, PDF, RAR, TXT, XLS, XML and ZIP, among others.

These extensions include Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, text files, pictures, compressed files, etc.

The user will not be able to open those files until they are decrypted. PGPCoder.E instructs users to send a message to an email address so that they can buy the decrypter.

PGPCoder.E does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer.
