SmartVirusEliminator is an adware program that carries out the following actions:

• The aim of this type of programs is to warn users of false threats in their computer and persuade them to purchase a security solution that disinfect it.

  By creating this entry, SmartVirusEliminator ensures that it is run whenever Windows is started.
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Classes\ Software\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\ SearchScopes

  It modifies the search parameters of Internet Explorer.

SmartVirusEliminator can be downloaded from the website belonging to the company that has developed it. The link can be received via spam messages, fraudulent websites, etc.

Additionally, it can also reach the computer when the user accesses certain websites which display banners or pop-up windows which lead to the download of this program.
