If exploited successfully, MS09-023 allows an attacking user to run a malicious client-side script, which could allow them to disclose sensitive information.

MS09-023 is usually exploited by placing a specially crafted file on the system or in an email message in an indexed mail box. If a user performs a search that returns this file as the first result, arbitrary HTML script execution could occur. If this file is not the first result, the user has to select and preview the file.
