Symptoms
Protection errors on computers with Windows systems in languages that require multibyte character sets (MBCS) with protection versions 8.00.21.XXXX or 8.00.22.XXXX installed and Decoy files protection enabled.
Multibyte character sets are used to support languages with scripts that have a large number of characters and symbols, predominantly Asian languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Solution
A hotfix is available to resolve this issue.
To apply a hotfix on the affected endpoint:
- Download and save the hotfix file to the endpoint:
HF-WGUA1389-multilanguage.exe - Double-click the downloaded file.
- If prompted, to fully apply the hotfix, restart the endpoint.
