Information applies to:

Products
Panda GateDefender Performa series 8050Panda GateDefender Performa series 8100 Panda GateDefender Performa series 8200
Panda GateDefender series 8100  Panda GateDefender series 8200  Panda GateDefender series 8050

The ‘how-to’ guide includes the case below:

For connections with a 192.168.1.0/24 source subnet and a 192.168.2.0/24 target subnet, the content-filter scan must be avoided and the anti-malware scan must be carried out.

To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Define both subnets. To do this:

    1. Access Definitions - > IP addresses.
    2. Click Add group and specify the following:

      • Name: “Subnet1
      • IPs included or IP/Mask [192.168.1.0/24]
    3. Click Add group and specify the following:

      • Name: “Subnet2
      • IPs included or IP/Mask [192.168.1.0/24]
  2. Define a configuration while content-filter is disabled. To do this:

    1. Access Configuration by profiles - > Settings management.
    2. Click Add and specify the following:

      • Name: “Configuration without content-filter”
      • Configurable modules: [X] Content-filter
    3. Click Edit the configuration created. To do this:

      • Go to Protection settings - > Content-filter protection.
      • Disable content-filter both for mail and for HTTP/FTP.
    4. Click Save for the changes to be applied.
  3. Define a profile and associate it to the defined source and target subnets, and the configuration created. To do this:

    1. Access Configuration by profiles - > Protection profile settings.
    2. Click Add protection profile and specify the following:

      • Name: “Subnet1 -> subnet2 profile
      • Applies to:

        • [X] Source subnet: “Subnet1”
        • [X] Target subnet: “Subnet2”
      • Settings: “Configuration without content-filter ”
      • Modules configured: [X] Content-filter.

If you want this behavior to be bi-directional, another profile must be created with the following characteristics:

  1. Access Configuration by profiles - > Protection profile settings from the Web console.
  2. Click Add protection profile and specify the following:

    • Name: “Subnet2 -> subnet1 profile
    • Applies to:

      • [X] Source subnet: “Subnet2”
      • [X] Target subnet: “Subnet1”
    • Settings: “Configuration without content-filter ”
    • Modules configured: [X] Content-filter
