System profile ‘how-to’ guide: Defining a user exempt from the SMTP anti-malware scan.

The following how-to guide explains how to define an external user exempt from the SMTP anti-malware scan, i.e, how to define a configuration with the SMTP anti-malware scan disabled.

 

Steps to follow

  1. Access Configuration by profiles - > Settings management from the Web console.
  2. Click Add and specify the following:
    • Name: “Configuration without SMTP anti-malware"
    • Configurable modules: [X] Anti-malware
  3. Click Edit the configuration created. To do this:
    • Go to Protection settings - > Anti-malware protection.
    • Disable the antivirus protection for SMTP.
  4. Click Save for the changes to be applied.
  5. Then, you have to define a profile, associating it to the email address of the external user that you want to be exempt from the SMTP anti-malware scan, and associating it to the configuration you have created. To do this:

    1. Access Configuration by profiles - > Protection profile settings from the Web console.
    2. Click Add and specify the following:

      • Name: “User without SMTP anti-malware”
      • Applies to:

        • Settings: “Configuration without SMTP anti-malware”
        • Modules configured: [X] Anti-malware
