How does TrustLayer Mail work? - Introduction

TrustLayer Mail is a solution which guarantees mail cleaning, preventing the entry of viruses, unwanted mail (spam) and unsuitable contents in companies. In contrast to solutions based on software filtering or appliances installed in the company, it is a subcontracted service (managed by third parties and outside the company).

A managed service offers maximum protection, since malware is increasingly complex and fast-changing.

TrustLayer Mail is a managed service which offers the following advantages:

  • Comprehensive mail filtering, making it possible for the end user to subscribe on a mailbox to mailbox basis to the service required: antivirus, antispam, content filtering.
  • Availability and cleaning of mail guaranteed through SLA.
  • Configurable services from “by default” to management of white/black lists, filtering criteria, reports etc by users and administrators.
  • Messages are stored for several days if the mail server crashes, delivering them once it has been restored.
  • Process time (latency) almost imperceptible.
  • Quarantine for keeping dangerous or unwanted messages outside the company, thereby reducing the consumption of its resources (bandwidth etc).
  • Load balancing system for absorbing traffic peaks and for enabling simple expansion.
  • Scalable to millions of mail accounts.
  • Redundant and high availability settings.
  • Reports and logs adapted to business needs and legal obligations.
