Brief Description

RedKod.13 is a backdoor type Trojan that opens a TCP communications port. As a result, it could allow a hacker to gain access to the infected computer's resources from a remote computer.

Through this Trojan, a hacker could carry out the following actions:

  • Send e-mail messages from the infected computer.
  • Run files.
  • Open documents.
  • Restart the computer.

RedKod.13 works only on computers with any of the following operating systems installed: Windows XP/2000/NT.

RedKod.13 does not use any specific means to spread. It can reach computers through the normal means used by viruses: e-mail messages with infected attachments, computer networks, CD-ROMs, Internet downloads, FTP, floppy disks, etc.

Visible Symptoms

If files are run on the computer -or the system is restarted- without apparent reason, RedKod.13 could have infected your computer.
