Frethem.A is a worm that reaches computers inside a file called WWW.FREEDESKTOPTHEMES.COM.
It spreads via e-mail messages with the following subject: Re: Do your Windows looks like Windows XP? I have found very nice desktop themes!.
Frethem.A is not a dangerous virus, as its main objective is to spread to other computers causing the following effects:
- It obtains the e-mail addresses from the affected computer’s Address Book, in an attempt to spread to other computers.
- It attempts to connect to nineteen communication companies, through the Internet.
Frethem.A is easy to recognize at first sight, as it always arrives in an e-mail message whose characteristics are typically the following:
Although COM is the most common extension (in an attempt to pass itself off as a Website address), occasionally, the following extensions are also possible: EXE, BAT or CMD.
