Breplibot.H is a backdoor that opens the port 8080 in order to connect to several IRC servers and receive control commands, which allow the affected computer to be remotely administrated.
This worm also ends processes belonging to several security tools, such as antivirus programs and firewalls, among others. Additionally, it disables the Windows XP firewall.
Breplibot.H does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. The means of transmission used include, among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, email messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, etc.
Breplibot.H is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.
