Ldpinch.AAI carries out the following actions:

• It steals usernames and passwords from the following programs:
  - Email clients:

  Mailru Agent
  Outlook
  The Bat!
  Thunderbird
  
  - FTP clients:
  CuteFTP
  Filezilla
  FlashFXP
  PuntoSwitcher
  SmartFTP
  Total Commander
  WS_FTP
  
  - File download managers:
  RapGet
  
  - Web browsers:
  Opera Software
  
  - Instant messaging programs:
  .NET Passport
  Gaim
  Mirabilis ICQ
  Miranda
  Trillian
• In order to do so, it access the configuration files and the Windows Registry entries belonging to these programs.
• Additionally, it steals information from the telephone connections to the Internet that are configured in the system.
• It sends a list with the processes that are active in the affected computer.
• Then, it sends the gathered information to its author through a certain website.

Means of transmission 

Ldpinch.AAI does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. The means of transmission used include, among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, email messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, etc.
