How to create CSV files to import the IPS and Active Directory groups tree

Information applies to:

Products
Adaptive Defense 360
Endpoint Protection
Endpoint Protection Plus

Once you select the option to create a group sorted by IP or by Active Directory, an editing window will be displayed. This screen allows the administrator to automatically import from a file the desired IP rules or the structure of the Active Directory.

Note: In the case of IP rules, the administrator can perform the import only once. However, in the Active Directory import, the administrator can perform as many imports as they want. In the first import the entire structure is created, while in subsequent imports the structure is created/modified according to any changes made with respect to the previous import.
Edit automatic group

The file to import must have the following format depending on the type of classification group:

    • Classification attending to the IP rules:

      • The file must be a .CSV file
      • Each line of the file must include the group path and the IP ranges (or IP/masc) and, if desired, the profile associated with that group. Both sets of data must be separated by tabs:

“Group Path” tab “IP Range” tab “Profile Name” [Optional]

        Example:
        GRUPO ESTE 10.134.92.1-10.134.92.254 Servers
        GRUPO NORTE 10.134.83.1-10.134.83.254 PWD luc
        GRUPO SUR 10.134.84.1-10.134.84.254

Note: If the profile information is not included, the default profile will be assigned to the groups.

        Edit automatic group tree

If, when importing, the information of any of the specified groups is not correct, an error message will be displayed indicating the line and string whose format is not valid, and none of the groups will be imported.

        The following errors may occur:

        • The configuration profile does not exist. Make sure that the name of the configuration profile matches that of an existing profile.
        • The IP range is incorrect. Enter the IP range using the following format: 10.10.10.10-10.10.10.19 ó 10.10.10.10/22.
        • The group path is incorrect. Enter the path separated by backslash characters: My group1\Group2.
        • The document format is incorrect. It must contain three tab-separated columns (Group, IP Range and Configuration Profile). Both the IP range (all IP addresses are accepted) and the profile (the group inherits the profile of its parent group) may be blank.
        • Classification based on Active Directory:

          • The file must be a .CSV file
          • Each line of the file must include the group path and, if desired, the profile associated with that group. Both sets of data must be separated by tabs.

“Group Path” tab “Profile name” [Optional]

            Example:

            Panda.org
            Bilbao.Panda.org
            Bilbao.Panda.org\Domain Controllers
            Bilbao.Panda.org\Computers
            Madrid.Panda.org\Domain Controller Servers
            Madrid.Panda.org\Computers PWD luc

Note: If the profile information is not included, the default profile will be assigned to the groups.

            • The group path is incorrect. Enter the path separated by backslash characters: My group1\Group2.
            • The document format is incorrect. It must contain two tab-separated columns (Group and Configuration Profile). The profile can be left blank (the default profile will be assigned).
