Access with TeamViewer

The computer from which you access the Web console must have TeamViewer installed (it is not enough to just run it on the computer). If you don’t have TeamViewer installed, a warning will be displayed indicating that you must download and install it.

  • To access your computers using TeamViewer it is advisable that all computers have the same login password. To do that, you must configure the account from the TeamViewer option Setup unattended access.
  • For administrators to be able to access computers using TeamViewer, they must run a Java applet on their own computer.
  • To access TeamViewer you only need to enter the relevant password.
  • If the computer to access already has an active TeamViewer session, you will not need to enter the computer login details (but you must, however, enter the TeamViewer login details).
  • If the TeamViewer login credentials are incorrect, an error message is displayed and you will be prompted to enter them again.

Access with LogMeIn

  • If the LogMeIn login credentials are incorrect, an error message is displayed and you will be prompted to enter them again. In this case you won’t access the target computer directly, but a list of all the computers associated with the LogMeIn account.
  • To access a computer using LogMeIn, you will have to enter the computer Windows credentials, even if there is a LogMeIn session already active.

Access with a VNC tool

  • These tools can only be used to access computers inside your local network.
  • For the administrator to be able to access computers using a VNC tool (RealVNC/UltraVNC/TightVNC), they must run a Java applet on their own computer.
  • If the computer to access has more than one network card, it will be accessed using its default IP address.
  • If the computer to access has a VNC session already active, you will not need to enter the computer login details (you must, however, enter the VNC tool login details when necessary).

    • In the case of RealVNC:

      • If the administrator has installed and configured RealVNC to accept connections without authentication, it will not be necessary to enter any credentials to access computers using RealVNC.
      • If the administrator has set a password for accessing computers using RealVNC, it will be necessary to enter the password before accessing a computer, even though it might have been already saved in the Preferences section.
    • In the case of UltraVNC:

      • It will be impossible to access any computers if UltraVNC is configured to automatically select the ports used to establish the connection, unless it uses the default ports (5800 and 5900).
      • If you have manually configured other ports, you will be able to connect to other computers without any problems.
