Roaming is one of the components of AdminSecure which allows updating of the signature file and the security program in remote computers which at a given moment may not be served by the repositories to which they are associated.

Read more information about Roaming and its components.

Cases for installing roaming will vary depending on the components and its location in the network. Below you'll find a description of how to install Roaming in networks when the HTTP server is in the DMZ and the repository of the HTTP updates is in the local network.

As you can see in the diagram:

  • The HTTP server is located within the DMZ and the HTTP updates repository within the local network (behind the firewall).
  • The HTTP repository within the internal network must be installed on a repository; it is advisable not to install it on the principal repository, although it will function correctly if you do so.
  • The only requirement for the installation to function correctly is to open, in the internal firewall,  the port configured for communication between the HTTP server and the HTTP repository (port 80 by default).
  • The Roaming client which is outside the corporate network will contact (via http) the HTTP server so that this requests the update from the repository and provides the client computer with the necessary files.
