Work at Panda Security

People often ask us what you have to do or what you need to be able to work in Panda Security. So today we’re going to explain some of the main things our HR department looks for when trying to recruit the ideal candidate.

Six tips for those who want to work in Panda Security

1. Try to be the best

We want the best people. This may seem like a cliché, but it’s true. It’s not just that we want the best, we need the best. All departments of our company demand the best, but especially the IT area, and in particular the Research team.

2. Be interested in technology

We are an IT security company, and technology is our bread and butter. That’s why it’s so important for people who work with us to be up-to-speed with all the latest developments in the sector. No matter whether you’re a developer, in sales or part of our tech support team, everyone has a keen interest in technology.

3. Routines bore you

Our customers’ needs change as quickly as they change the devices they use. So at Panda Security we all have to keep up with this relentless pace.

You can see this just by looking at the entries in this blog from a couple of years ago. If you looked for stories about smartphone viruses, you wouldn’t find anything. Nowadays these devices are the main target of cyber-criminals, and that’s why we are continually warning about these new threats, as well as security holes in WhatsApp, malicious apps on Google Play, etc. Given the constant changes in the way we work, we have to stay alert to everything that happens.

4. Tell us your ideas. We’ll listen

It’s essential to have initiative in a company like Panda Security. We are organized in multi-disciplinary teams with people from various countries and it’s important to offer your ideas (even if you think they’re off-the-wall!) or to suggest new ways of working to ensure that every day we continue to improve.

5. Learn English

Panda Security is a global company so you will always be in contact with our employees in offices around the world on a daily basis. That’s why one of the best pieces of advice we can give you is learn English. Don’t do it simply to get through a job interview or for just another thing to put on your resume. If your mother tongue is not English and you want to work in a multinational company such as Panda Security, you must learn English properly and be able to communicate effectively in the language.

6. Show us an innovative resume

As we mentioned above, we like innovative, communicative and proactive people, so it is not a bad idea to differentiate yourself from the rest at the outset by taking a different approach to the traditional resume format. Obviously it largely depends on the type of job you are going for, but why not do something different from the typical PDF listing your professional experience? Why not take advantage of that first impression to stand out from the rest? And don’t forget to have your LinkedIn profile up-to-date. This is a basic tool for our HR department!

Even if we don’t have any jobs at present that suit your professional profile, don’t worry. We are constantly growing and always on the lookout for new people who bring different perspectives. Be prepared, be proactive and never stop growing professionally. We want people who are eager to learn.
