Brief Description 

    

Trj.Reboot is a Trojan that restarts the computer after carrying out its infection. However, is does not carry out any destructive effects.

Trj.Reboot uses the libraries of Visual Basic.5 to carry out its actions and if these libraries are not installed, this virus will not carry out its actions. In addition, Trj.Reboot does not work in computers that have the operating systems  Windows NT or Windows 2000 installed.

An indication that Trj.Reboot has infected a computer is that it restarts for no apparent reason.

Infection strategy 

In order to carry out its infection, Trj.Reboot uses Visual Basic.5 libraries. Therefore, these libraries must be installed for this virus to infect a computer. To be more precise, it uses the file MSVBVM50.DLL.

Trj.Reboot does not use any specific mean to spread. It can use any of the means normally used by other viruses: floppy disks, CD-ROM, e-mails with infected attachments, Internet downloads, FTP, etc.
