What are the minimum system requirements for running the Panda Cloud Systems Management Agent?

To install the Panda Cloud Systems Management agent you must have one of the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP (32-bit & 64-bit editions)
  • Windows Server 2003 (32-bit & 64-bit editions)
  • Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit & 64-bit editions)
  • Windows Vista (32-bit & 64-bit editions)
  • Windows Server 2008 (32-bit & 64-bit editions)
  • Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit editions)
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit editions)
  • Windows 8 (32-bit & 64-bit editions)*
  • Windows Server 2012 (64-bit edition)*
  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Apple OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
  • Apple OS X 10.7 (Lion)
  • Apple OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)

The PCSM agent is a .Net service and needs Windows Installer 3.1 and .Net Framework 2.0 to install and run. Windows Installer 3.1 is part of the standard MS Windows Update and so should be present on all devices but if not, it can be downloaded from Microsoft.

If Microsoft .Net 2.0 is not installed on the device, the agent installer will automatically download and install it. MS .Net 2.0 can also be downloaded manually from Microsoft.

* Requirements for Windows 8 & Windows Server 2012 in Panda Cloud Systems Management:

  • Windows 8 SP0 & Windows Server 2012 SP0 – Build 6.2.9200

In order to install the Panda Cloud Systems Management Agent, enable .NET Framework 3.5.1 in Features (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0). This can be found in:

  • Windows 8: Control Panel-> Programs & Features-> Turn Windows features on or off.
  • Windows Server 2012: Server Manger-> Roles and Features-> Add Roles-> Features

This can also be enabled via the following command line(s):

  • Windows 8
    dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3
  • Windows Server 2012
    dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3ServerFeatures
    dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3
