Flashback, a Trojan for Mac systems
- The Mac Flashback Trojan has infected more than 650,000 Mac computers around the world.
- It spreads via streaming and warez sites by exploiting a Java vulnerability.
- It poses many risks to users as it turns infected Macs into zombie computers. Additionally, it steals personal and financial data and redirects victims to fraudulent websites.
- It is interesting to note that, as soon as Apple released the patch that fixed the Java vulnerability, cyber-crooks put in circulation new variants of the malware, such as Sabpab for example.
