As previously announced by Microsoft, after April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, including automatic updates that help protect PCs. Despite this announcement, users will still be able to continue using Windows XP, albeit knowing that their computers will be more vulnerable to security risks in general and malware in particular.

In this context, Panda Security, The Cloud Security Company, today announced that its corporate solution Panda Cloud Office Protection (PCOP) will continue to offer the same level of service to Windows XP users, despite Microsoft’s plan to end support for the operating system.

“It is very important for us to keep our commitments to our customers”, explained Manuel Santamaría, Global Product Manager at Panda Security. “Nearly 50 percent of the two million computers currently protected with Panda Cloud Office Protection have Windows XP installed, so for our customers it is extremely important that we continue supporting this operating system, particularly after their systems lose product support on April 8, leaving them vulnerable”.

Panda Security recommends that Windows XP users take additional precautions after April, and follow general security best practices to prevent malware infections until they upgrade their operating systems to a safer version.

Panda Cloud Office Protection 6.8

Panda Cloud Office Protection offers cloud-based proactive protection for corporate environments in real time, thanks to Panda Security’s Collective Intelligence platform. This system ensures maximum security against malware and exploits that take advantage of unknown and unpatched vulnerabilities, regardless of the source of infection.

With version 6.8, launched a few months ago, Panda Cloud Office Protection becomes the only solution in the market to provide centralized, cloud-based control of Windows, Linux and Mac devices. Additionally, this release boasts a list of new interesting features including URL filtering and the ability to scan any type of file.

Finally, Panda Security offers organizations the perfect complement to Panda Cloud Office Protection: Panda Cloud Systems Management (PCSM), the company’s solution to manage, monitor and support IT networks, allowing administrators to update computer software easily across the network and manage mobile devices (MDM).
