Panda GateDefender Integra incorporates the VPN module. Through this module, it can operate as a VPN server for both remote clients and for other remote networks.
The two architectures that can be implemented are:
- Network to network VPN (gateway to gateway)
- Remote client VPN (gateway to roadwarrior)
Panda GateDefender allows the following protocols to be used to configure secure connections:
To establish the VPN tunnel with Panda GateDefender Integra, third-party software can be used when selecting the remote client or remote VPN gateway. Below is a list of the compatible clients and gateways and basic recommendations of use.

NOTE: Other clients and gateways on the market could also allow a VPN tunnel to be established with Panda GateDefender Integra. However, Panda only guarantees the correct functioning of the remote clients or remote VPN gateways tested.
Recommendations
Panda GateDefender Integra offers a wide range of options with encrypted protocols and the two types of architecture (remote client-gateway/ gateway–gateway) when configuring a VPN tunnel. For example, the PPTP protocol, like others, only allows a gateway-roadwarrior type architecture to be set up. Protocols like IPSEC or SSL however, can be used to build tunnels between remote users and entire networks, or to establish a secure communications channel between various networks.
When choosing the protocol, you should analyze the design and context in which the VPN network will be implemented and evaluate which one best suites your needs.
The following recommendations can be used as a guideline when implementing a type of architecture:
Integra (gateway)-roadwarrior: it is recommendable to use clients compatible with Panda GateDefender Integra.
Integra (gateway)-gateway: it is recommendable to use another Integra VPN server as the remote gateway.
