After some years we have decided to participate again in the AV-Comparatives.org tests.
The main driver for this decision has been the evolution of the methodologies employed by AV-Comparatives. We are happy to see that cloud-scanning components of products are also tested and this of course is important for testing Panda products as they incorporate not only signature-based cloud-scanning but also cloud-heuristics.
We will participate in all the main tests of AV-Comparatives (On-Demand, Retrospective, False Positive, Malware Removal, etc.) as well as the new Whole-Product Test which is a very promising test which replicates user experience.
However AV-Comparative’s Retrospective Test (which consists of freezing a 2-week old signature and testing against new malware to see how good the heuristic engine is) still does not use cloud-heuristics which are present in Panda products. Even though this methodology will penalize Panda’s products to some degree, we believe it is important to be present in the rest of the tests performed by AV-Comparatives.

What AV of yours will AV-Comparatives be testing? Will they test Panda Cloud AV?
I do not really get the cloud systems. What about removable media when you are not in the net ? Thare is no heuristics and product does not have latest signatures.
I really prefere AV with heuristics on the machine.

@Icedrake Normally AV-Comparatives uses the regular Antivirus and Internet Security suites for their comparatives. For consistency’s sake we’ll use the same ones (Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 & Panda Internet Security 2010).
@Cloudman Actually there are heuristics and other non-cloud technologies to protect while offline. Also the cloud concept is to have the latest most important signatures synchronized every time you connect to the Internet. Some more reading about this can be found here:

My english isnt’ really good but i try to explain my problem. I need to know how uninstall the Panda USB Vaccine from the computer definitly, All of my cd-roms not function and i need the autorun of that cds , i try unistall the program of my computer but the autorun of any removable still non function. Iam desperado. Thanks to any one to resolve them. Really..
@el cineista Actually Panda USB Vaccine does NOT modify the behaviour the the CD/DVD “autoplay” function. Only the “autorun” of programs is disabled. To uninstall it, simply open it and click on “remove vaccination” from the computer. But like I said, it should not have anything to do with the “autoplay” feature of CD/DVDs.

results has been published, good to read that panda got 99.2% of on demand scanniing and rated 3rd on detection, hope to see panda on 1st with less false postive
why there is a lot of false alarms?almost 50 false alarms?
I wouldn’t worry much about the false positives. This is the first time we participate in AVC in many years. It has taken the other vendors some time to get adjusted to the false positive testbed as well. As with the other vendors, I’m sure in the next test we will be more adjusted to these false positives as well and perform much better in this respect.
pedro 1 suggestion , truprevent should block a file which tries to hide a folder and make executeable with the same name becoz now a days mostly malware use this behaviour. thx
