Astia.B is a macro virus that displays texts and images on screen while emitting beeping sounds. It does this when Word has been running for 45 minutes. In addition, like most macro viruses Astia.B: Reaches computers in an infected Word 97 document with a DOC extension. From there, it infects the Word template (NORMAL.DOT file) spreading its infection to all the Word documents that use this template. Astia.B infects Word 97 documents and is run every time a document infected by the virus is opened. Astia.B only works properly with the first version of Word 97, and it cannot infect any documents in SR-1 or in any subsequent version. It modifies some Word options.

Apakah Anda ingin merekam makro..? When the user accesses the Word options View-Toolbar-VisualBasic and Tools-Macro-Macros, the virus displays the following window: 
If the user clicks on Yes, Astia.B runs the Word function Record New Macro and copies an infected macro in the open document. |
