Lop.B is an adware type program, which offers users an application in exchange for viewing a series of advertisements.
Lop.B affects Windows 2003/XP/2000/NT operating systems only. It is an executable file that installs a DLL (Dynamic Link Library), which registers itsef as a BHO (Browser Helper Object) in the browser Internet Explorer.
Most versions of Lop.B add a toolbar to the browser Internet Explorer. This toolbar will allow users to carry out Internet searches, but it also displays a large number of pop-up advertisements.
Additionally, Lop.B changes the Internet Explorer homepage, in order to display the homepage of the company that created Lop.B, which several companies use in order to advertise their products. It also creates shortcuts to different websites, both in the Windows Desktop and in the directory Favorites.
Lop.B causes an error and closes the application explorer.exe if the compressor WinZip is installed and the user attempts to access Lop.B contextual menu.
