Protoride.C is a worm with backdoor characteristics that spreads across networks, by copying itself to the shared resources it gains access to.
Protoride.C connects to an IRC channel and waits for a hacker to send remote control commands. It can download and run files, hide active processes, uninstall itself, etc.
Protoride.C modifies an entry in the Windows Registry. This causes files with an EXE extension to not run, which prevents the user from accessing some applications.
Protoride.C is difficult to recognize, as it does not show any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.
However, if some applications cannot be run, it may mean that Protoride.C is present on your computer.
