Slep.A is a backdoor that allows a hacker to gain remote access to the affected computer, in order to carry out actions that compromise user confidentiality or impede the tasks performed.
Slep.A attempts to access the web page www.apisvr.com/ webinstall/ webform1.aspx?guid=&pid= in order to carry out some kind of registering.>
Slep.A does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs the attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. The means of transmission used include, among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, e-mail messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, etc.
A clear indication that Slep.A has reached the computer is the presence of IP traffic between the computer and the website www.apisvr.com.
