Welcome to the Virus Encyclopedia of Panda Security.
Passbox.E is a macro virus that reaches the computer in an infected Word document with a DOC extension. Then, it infects Word’s global template (NORMAL.DOT file), and from there Passbox.E infects all the Word files generated with it.
Passbox.E disables some Word options and sometimes password-protects files. As a result, the user of the affected computer will not be able to access these files.
If the key Esc is disabled or the computer asks you for a user name and password when trying to open a Word document, Passbox.E may have infected your computer.
