Panol is a worm with destructive effects that spreads via e-mail in a message with the subject Protects against viruses, worms, Trojan & hackers and an attachment called VIRUS_BLOCK.EXE.
When it is run, Panol ends processes belonging to several antivirus programs and security applications. When the affected computer is restarted, Panol reformats the hard drive C:.
Panol is easy to recognize, as it reaches the computer in an e-mail message with the following characteristics:

When it is run, Panol displays the following messages on screen:
- On September 2, it displays the following dialog box, and deletes the line that this virus inserts in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
- Whenever the system date is October 11, it displays the following message:
