AxProxy is a Trojan that does not spread by itself, but is dropped by another virus called W32/Randon.
When AXProxy is run, it launches a file called PROXY.EXE, a legal, commercial application that makes the computer function as a proxy server. When this program is run, it usually displays a message warning the user that the computer is visible to other computers in the Internet, which could access the computer in order to disguise certain types of actions (spammers, etc.).
However, AXProxy runs this program in hidden mode and therefore this message is not displayed and the icon does not appear in the Windows Taskbar.
AXProxy is difficult to identify, as it does not display any warnings or messages that indicate that it has reached a computer.
