Peers is a backdoor type Trojan that opens port 8961, allowing an attacker to gain remote access to the affected computer.
Peers does not use any specific means to spread. It can reach computers through the usual means used by viruses: floppy disks, CD-ROMS, e-mail messages, Internet downloads, FTP, etc.
Peers is difficult to identify, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate that it has reached a computer.
