Lovgate.A is a worm that spreads across networks and via e-mail.
Lovgate.A also acts as a backdoor type Trojan, opening a TCP port (usually 10168). By doing this, it leaves the affected computer vulnerable to possible attacks. A hacker could exploit this situation to gain remote access over the affected computer.
Lovgate.A creates a large number of copies of itself in the shared network drives. These files will be accessible from the other computers in the same local network as the affected computer and if they are run, these computers will also be affected.
Lovgate.A is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has affected a computer.
