Dialer.N is a dialer, which establishes a connection to a premium rate number.
It is easy to be affected by Dialer.N as it reaches computers through many different means: e-mail messages with infected attachments, computer networks, CD-ROMs, Internet downloads, FTP, floppy disks, etc.
Dialer.N is easy to identify, as when it affects computers, it displays an icon in the Windows Taskbar, next to the system clock.
If you click right-click on this icon, an option to uninstall it appears. If this option is selected, the dialer seems to uninstall itself but it remains as a process in memory and does not delete the entry from the Windows Registry. As a result, when the computer is restarted, the dialer will remain resident leaving a port open.
