Hooker is a boot virus that infects the boot sector of hard disks (Master Boot Record or MBR) and floppy disks (Boot). It goes memory resident in the TOM (Top Of Memory).
Hooker can be considered a dangerous virus, as it also modifies files with an EXE extension (executable programs).
Hooker infects the hard disk of a computer when the computer is booted from an infected floppy disk. Then, all the floppy disks used on the computer will be infected, provided that they are not write-protected.
If a computer has problems starting up, it could be infected by Hooker.
