Netrax is a Trojan that allows hackers to access other computers so that they can perform different actions on them. Some of these actions can affect users who have the instant messaging application MSN Messenger installed, while others can infect any Windows user.
Netrax is considered a dangerous Trojan. Some of its most damaging actions include:
- It steals MSN Messenger passwords.
- It runs applications without user intervention.
- It captures keystrokes that users enter in infected computers.
- It restarts the computer, etc.
Some of the symptoms that indicate that Netrax is present on a computer include the following:
The CD-ROM drive opens and closes for no reason.
Text is printed for no reason.
The mouse pointer is hidden.
The Windows Taskbar and Start button disappear.
The computer shuts down for no reason.
New contacts are created in MSN Messenger.
