Supova.B is a worm that spreads through two Internet applications: the messaging service MSN Messenger and the file swapping application KaZaA.
It does not have a destructive payload, as the only action it carries out is to display a text on screen.
If it difficult to know if Supova.B has reached the computer, especially if it has been voluntarily downloaded through KaZaA.
KaZaA is an application that allows users to share files over the Internet. As a result, users may download the worm thinking that it is a game or interesting application. In order to trick users into downloading it, Supova.B uses a wide range of names.
It is easier to identify the messages sent through the application MSN Messenger, as they usually contain the following texts:
- Hehe, check this out :-)
- Funny, check it out (h)
- LOL!! See this :D
- LOL!! Check this out :)
When Supova.B activates, it displays the following error message on screen:
Furthermore, Supova.B could also display a dialog box with the title Just checkin' the walls..., and the text Patch the leaks or the ship will sink.
