Sysres is a Trojan that obtains information from affected systems, in order to send it to a certain website.
The information that Sysres gathers from affected computers is the following:
- Windows operating system version.
- Internet Explorer browser version.
- ISP information.
- RAS information (Remote Access Service).
- RAS phone entries.
- Modem LOG files.
There are several versions of Sysres, which have similar effects. On 12/18/2002, improvements were made in the detection of Sysres, which allow the detection of all the variants of this Trojan.
Sysres is difficult to recognize, as it does not displays any messages or warnings that indicate it has affected the computer. However, affected systems will slow down without apparent reason.
