Assilem.B is a macro virus whose destructive payload affects the Word documents that are open. The virus triggers its payload when the minute value matches the day value on the system clock. Then, the virus modifies the original content of the active document by inserting a text in English.
Like most macro viruses, it reaches computers in an infected Word 97 document, with a DOC extension. This document then infects the global template (NORMAL.DOT file) and spreads its infection to all the Word documents generated with it.
It disables the Word 97 macro antivirus protection, preventing the user from disabling the macros when opening a document.
Assilem.B does not give any indications that it has infected a computer.
However, it inserts the following text in the active document when the minute value matches the day value on the system clock:
Twenty-two points, plus triple-word-score, plus fifty points for using all my letters.
Game's over. I'm outta here.
